Fujiwara no Takaiko (藤原高子) or Empress Nijō (二条后 Nijō no Kisaki, 842 - May 6, 910) was a consort of Emperor Seiwa who had fallen in love with Ariwara no Narihira. She is currently the former emperor's mother.
Appearance[]
Takaiko has long, flowing black hair that reaches to her waist and brownish red eyes. She is often seen wearing a traditional kimono similar to a junihitoe.
Personality[]
Takaiko is a down-to-earth and sensible woman as she is not, at first, taken in by the good looks of Narihira and rebukes his 'confessions' of love.
Relationships[]
She was in love with Narihira at a time, but they broke apart when the latter told her to go home when her brother came to search for her as the couple were eloping.
She is currently shown to be the former Emperor Yozei's mother.
